Technology

Streetline gathers specific information about the urban environment with reliable and unobtrusive sensors.

Streetline's sensors are self-powered, rugged and completely wireless. In most cases, they canbe installed in minutes and left unattended for years of reliable service.

For wireless sensors, specialization is the key to reliability and long life. So we’ve designed our sensors to detect only the most critical events and narrowly-defined conditions — a car parking or leaving a spot, for example, or unusually congested traffic.

The less a sensor has to think about, the better it will perform. Sensors aren’t like us — they never get bored, and they’re quite happy to stay quiet for long periods of time if they have nothing interesting to say.

Privacy in Public Spaces

Rigorous ultra-low power engineering requires serious trade-offs. The sensing applications we build will never be able to deliver anything remotely like live audio, pictures or video. We happen to think that’s a good thing. We’re extremely good at identifying specific physical conditions and events, but we’ll never be able to identify people. It’s not our business, and it’s just not what our technology is designed to do.
